About
Los Angeles native Dennis Bredow's retro-modern artwork is a celebration of mid-twentieth-century America. Using acrylic, serigraphy, and found objects, he meticulously constructs pieces reflecting 1950s craftsmanship and design, sparking a dialogue on post-war idealism. From Western art to resort ski scenes to mid-century advertising, Bredow's work covers the diverse landscapes of American culture. His work reexamines this era through a contemporary lens, revealing the tension between appearance and reality against the ever-evolving backdrop of social values.
Preferring solid birch panels over traditional canvas, Bredow distresses paint and incorporates vintage advertisements and found materials, infusing each piece with a unique narrative. With a background in advertising and film spanning nearly three decades, Bredow now dedicates himself to his art.
